Learner Leadership
At our school, learner leadership is linked to our vision, 'Involve me and I learn', emphasising the profound impact of active participation (being involved) on learning.
By taking on leadership roles, learners develop a sense of ownership and aroha (caring), which are crucial for their personal and academic growth. These roles provide opportunities for learners to give back to their community, fostering a culture of service and mutual respect. The skills gained through these leadership experiences, such as decision-making, responsibility and teamwork are invaluable throughout life.
We are committed to nurturing these qualities in our learners, as they not only enhance their current educational experience but also prepare them for future success.
Learner Leadership badges
From Year 4 onwards, learners can work towards their BRONZE, SILVER AND GOLD Leaderships badges. They have to demonstrate how they meet the criteria for each badge. Badges are awarded in assembly each term. Whaanau will receive an email if their child is going to receive a badge so they can join us in assembly.
