Information Communication Technology (ICT)

At Tamaoho School, we embrace Information Communication Technology (ICT) as a powerful tool under the umbrella of Creativity. Guided by our Wonder Skills, we encourage learners to use their imagination and think critically to generate new ideas and solve problems.

Technology as a Learning Tool

We believe technology is a tool to enhance learning, and we use it only when it is the right tool for the purpose. Our school is equipped with a diverse range of devices and resources to support innovative learning experiences, including:

  • 3D Goggles

  • Spheros

  • Bee-Bots

  • 3D Printers

  • Chromebooks

  • iPads

  • Osmos

ICT Integration Across Phases of the Curriculum

Phase 1 (Year 1–Year 3):

In Phase 1, learners may use technology to support their learning, but access is intentionally limited. Technology is not a core part of their daily programme, as we recognise that young children already have significant exposure to technology outside of school. Our focus at this stage is on developing the whole child, fostering creativity, collaboration, and foundational skills through hands-on learning.

Phase 2 (Year 4–Year 6):

In Phase 2, technology becomes an integral part of the learning experience, providing learnerss with tools to explore, create, and collaborate.

  • Access: The school provides all the technology learners need, including Chromebooks, which are assigned for classroom use.

  • Google Accounts: Each learner receives a carefully monitored Google account and email address, managed through Google Classroom and Hapara to ensure safety and efficiency.

  • Cyber Safety: At the start of each year, all learners participate in a comprehensive Cyber Safety Programme. This includes understanding safe online practices and signing a e-Learning Agreement to reinforce the responsible use of technology.
