Kapa Haka
'Kapa' means to form a line and 'haka' to dance, and it plays a crucial role in our curriculum by honouring the Treaty of Waitangi and nurturing an understanding of Maaori culture and identity. It supports the development of te reo Maaori and tikanga, reinforcing the importance of whanaungatanga— the connection and unity among people. Through kapa haka, our learners embrace these cultural practices, enriching their sense of belonging and fostering a deeper respect for the traditions that shape New Zealand.
Details: Mondays and Tuesdays in school for our junior and senior groups. There is also an after-school session every Monday for whaanau to join in with their children.
